Animation Reel
With over two years of experience in 2D animation, I bring a strong mix of technical expertise and creative vision. I focus on meeting client requests and delivering animated pieces that are visually engaging, polished, and impactful. I am highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop and Premiere Pro).I have strong communication skills that allow me to collaborate effectively with teams and work closely with clients to achieve their goals. Driven, detail oriented, and adaptable, I’m eager to contribute fresh ideas and storytelling energy to a dynamic animation team.
Award Winning Film
I directed and animated an eight-minute 2D short film, which was screened at six film festivals across North America, including The Whistler Film Festival. The film earned the Best Animated Short Film award at The Open World Toronto Film Festival.Throughout this experience I led a team of eight creatives, from voice actors, sound designers, composers, and animators - through every stage of production, from storyboarding and pitching to final animation. This experience sharpened my skills in project management, creative direction, and collaborative storytelling under tight deadlines.
Animation
This collection of animation work shows a range of styles and techniques. Each project reflects flexibility in approach and a solid grasp of core animation principles.The pieces were created using industry-standard tools including Photoshop, Adobe Animate, Toon Boom Harmony, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Procreate.
Character Design
This page shows a mix of styles and mediums, from digital work to pencil, paper, and marker. Each piece focuses on detail and personality, using shape and motion to bring characters to life.
Background Design
This section features backgrounds created with Photoshop, Maya (for perspective and layout), and Procreate. Each design is built to support storytelling, adding polish and atmosphere while giving character to the world through thoughtful visual choices.
About Me
Kasha Malinowski is a 2023 Emily Carr University of Art & Design graduate where she received a Bachelor of Media Arts, majoring in 2D & Experimental Animation. She is a passionate, detail-oriented, and creative professional who enjoys experimenting and learning every day.With over two years of experience in animation and graphic design, she led a team of eight creatives—including voice actors, sound designers, composers, and animators—to produce an award-winning short film screened at six North American film festivals. The project was a milestone in her creative leadership journey. In addition to her production work, she contributed to the broader film community as a judge for the Central Alberta Film Festival, further showcasing her developing animation skills and growing involvement in the film community.
